曹志先,1963年10月出生,湖南沅江人,現為武漢大學教授、博導,英國Heriot-Watt大學教授。中國力學學會環境力學專業委員會副主任委員,國際泥沙研究雜誌副主編(Associate Editor, International Journal of Sediment Research)。 1982至1991年獲武漢大學河流力學與工程專業學士學位和水力學及河流動力學專業碩士、博士學位。 長期從事河流水沙動力學基礎理論、數值模擬技術及其在河流工程、水沙災害、航道等方面的套用研究。在基礎研究層面上,主要研究:水沙運動基本規律、水沙運動與河床相互作用機制、水沙動力學耦合數學模擬理論、水沙運動高性能數值計算技術等。從套用層面而論,主要研究:河道洪水、暴雨山洪、壩堤潰決洪水、滑坡體潰決洪水、冰湖潰決洪水、城市洪水和土石流;以及水庫異重流、水庫泥沙淤積、大壩下遊河床沖刷和軟體排和魚骨壩護灘帶護灘工程效應等。 主持歐盟第六框架計畫項目課題、國家重點基礎研究與發展(973)計畫課題、國家自然科學基金委委主任基金和面上項目以及橫向項目等總計二十餘項。獲英國土木工程師學會 Telford 獎 (Telford Prize 2003), 2010年美國土木工程師學會<水利工程雜誌>傑出評閱人 (Outstanding Reviewer for Journal of Hydraulic Engineering ASCE). 研究成果主要發表在本學科國際主流學術刊物上,其中SCI 收錄論文50 余篇,被他人SCI論文引用約350次,這兩項指標在中國河流動力學學科範疇處於領先位置。
