人物經歷
1982和88年獲浙江大學學士（固體力學）、碩士（計算力學），1997年獲英國伯明罕大學博士（生理學）。現為南開大學特聘教授，博士生導師，生物信息學學科負責人。曾在英國曼徹斯特大學、日本理化學研究院和英國倫敦SBU大學從事博士後、研究員和高級研究員工作。
研究方向
神經生理與計算。生物信息學目前的主要研究方向：與神經系統重大疾病（癲癇和腦缺血等）相關的神經生理機制和預防，如癲癇的早期預報；非線性理論和方法以其在生理學研究中的套用；蛋白質結構、功能的生物信息學分析，如蛋白質二級結構分析、蛋白質功能點突變預測算法等，以及生物信息資料庫的建設。
主要貢獻
回國以來已經完成七項國家級基金（5項自然科學基金，兩項973子課題）和三項省部級科學基金，目前承擔兩項國家級基金（自然科學基金和973子課題）和一項天津市基礎研究項目（重點）。在國內外學術刊物上發表論文近百篇，會議論文或摘要70餘篇。組建了以碩士和博士生為主體的研究隊伍。
在高維非線性神經動力學系統的計算和分析方面取得過創新性成果。如針對RSNA的非線性分析，在國際上首次提出了利用系統的生物學特徵而不是通常的
數學或物理的方法進行降維的思路，成功的分析了正常Wistar和SHRSP大鼠上肢神經在不同強度和頻率的電刺激時RSNA的混沌特徵。回國數年來已經完成四項國家級基金（三項自然科學基金，一項973子課題）和三項省部級科學基金，目前承擔兩項國家自然科學基金。在國內外學術刊物上發表論文80餘篇，會議論文或摘要70餘篇。組建了以碩士和博士生為主體的研究隊伍。
