位於廣西龍州縣城東北30公里，地跨龍州、寧明兩縣.為盆地邊緣山地、石灰岩峰叢深切槽谷地形，海拔30—650米.群峰竟立，石山連綿，多地下河.弄崗地處南亞熱帶，年平均溫度22℃左右，岩溶地貌發育.但由於本區域內人為破壞較少，森林生態系統保存比較完整，生物資源豐富，有植物1282種，動物123種，昆蟲439種.白頭葉猴是本區的主要保護對象.區域內還有猿、雉、麝等飛禽走獸棲息.東區自然風光優美，是國家的自然保護區.
