廖運文教授現主要從事壓電鐵電陶瓷、薄膜與元器件、有機-無機納米複合材料等方面的研究。在Materials Chemistry and Physics、Materials Science and Engineering B、Applied Physics A、Physica Status Solidi A、Ceramics International、Journal of Alloys and Compounds、Journal of Materials Science and Technology、功能材料、壓電與聲光等國內外重要學術刊物上發表論文近30篇。現有在研項目兩項。獲得省級獎勵3項/次。
