《嶽麓書院（英文版）》講述了，嶽麓書院是古代傳統書院建築，屬於中國歷史上的四大書院之一。位於湖南省長沙市湘江西岸的嶽麓山風景區嶽麓山東面山下。1988年，嶽麓書院建築群被國務院批准為第三批全國重點文物保護單位。
北宋開寶九年（976年），潭州太守朱洞在僧人辦學的基礎上，由官府捐資興建，正式創立嶽麓書院。嗣後，歷經宋、元、明、清各代，至清末光緒二十九年（1903年）改為湖南高等學堂。祥符八年（公元1015年），宋真宗召見山長周式，並賜書“嶽麓書院”四字門額。1926年正式定名為湖南大學。歷經千年，弦歌不*，故世稱“千年學府”，現為湖南大學下屬學院。2016年8月，國家旅遊局決定對嚴重不達標的湖南省長沙市橘子洲景區摘牌。
