多年來一直從事以沸石分子篩等多孔材料為催化劑或吸附劑的反應及分離過程的套用及基礎理論研究。自1995年起長期在英國愛丁堡大學L. V. C. Rees教授實驗室學習工作,參與了用於催化劑性能研究的頻率回響儀的研製、開發和套用工作。作為負責人和主要責任人,先後主持和參加英國工程及理學研究基金(EPSRC)及皇家學會項目3項、國家重點基礎研究項目(973)課題1項、國家自然科學基金項目8項、省部級項目16項,取得了許多處於世界領先水平的研究成果,所得結果十多次被國際會議選為大會特邀報告。目前正主持國家重點基礎研究項目(973)課題1項、國家自然基金項目1項,省部級項目6項,企業科技攻關項目3項。先後獲部級科技進步二等獎1項,三等獎2項、市級科技進步一等獎1項、二等獎2項。通過部級科技成果鑑定3項。申請專利5項。在國內外核心期刊上發表論文70餘篇,其中《SCI》收錄25篇。所發表的論文已被SCI文獻引用100多次。參編著作3部(其中英文2部)。
