安托萬·D·阿格塔（Antoine D'Agata），1961年出生於法國馬賽，22歲時他離開了法國，此後的10年都身居國外。

29歲那年Antoine D'Agata熱愛上了攝影並且在美國紐約的國際攝影中心（International Center for Photography）學習攝影，那時他和Larry Clark以及Nan Goldin還是同學。隨後的2年，Antoine D'Agata在紐約瑪格南辦公室擔任實習編輯。
1993年時，Antoine D'Agata回到了法國，並且在此後的三年里沒有從事攝影方面的工作。
1998年，他出版了他的第一本攝影書《De mala muerte》。
1999年Antoine D'Agata受聘於法國UV圖片社，他在2001年出版了自己的第二本書《Hometown》。也在那年，他獲得了Niépce獎項。
2003年9月，他在巴黎舉辦了名為《1001 Nuits》（《美女神燈》）的作品展覽，並且出版了《Vortex》（《漩渦》）以及《Insomnia》（《失眠》）。
2004年他加入了瑪格南圖片社，再次發行了自己的新書《Stigma》（《恥辱》）。Antoine D'Agata還在那年十月份時拍攝了自己的第一部電影《Le Ventre du Monde》。
Antoine D'Agata現在生活工作於巴黎。
