簡介
宇宙守護者起源於馬爾圖斯星（Maltus），他們是宇宙中存在時間最早的智慧生命體，在很早很早之前就擁有先進的科技與文明。
馬爾圖斯星人中有一位叫卡隆納（Krona）的科學家，他想一探宇宙起源之奧秘，於是無視禁令強行進行研究，意外製造了一場爆炸。在這場爆炸中，產生了多元宇宙（Multiverse）和反物質宇宙（Antimatter Universe）。
放逐了卡隆納之後，其中一支馬爾圖斯星人來到被稱為“宇宙中心”的歐阿星（OA），成為了“宇宙守護者”，另一支成為扎馬倫人（Zamarons）的祖先，還有一支後來成為了控制者（The Controllers）。
