序言
英語閱讀能力的培養是大學英語教學的重要任務。對此,《大學英語課程教學要求(試行)》做出了定性定量的要求。閱讀不僅是獲取信息的主要手段,也是學習和掌握語言的有效途徑。對於廣大非英語專業大學生而言,只有通過大量閱讀,才能獲得充足的語言輸入,進而打下紮實的英語基礎,形成較強的英語語感,提高英語綜合套用能力。
培養英語閱讀能力一方面要依賴足夠的閱讀實踐,在閱讀中學會閱讀;另一方面,能動地運用
元認知策略,理性地改進閱讀方法,積極地提高英語閱讀技能,無疑能對培養較強的閱讀能力起到事半功倍的作用。
英語閱讀能力包含多種要素,而快速處理閱讀材料所輸入信息的能力是其中極其重要的微技能,這一點早已為閱讀研究者所認識。Grabe(1991)曾經指出:“…a description of reading has to account for the notions that fluentreading is rapid,purposeful,interactive,comprehendin9,flexible,and gradually developin9.”。Taylor(1975)也強調“reading hastobefasttobe successful”。一定的閱讀速度是獲取主要信息所必需的,是保持閱讀興趣、專注於閱讀內容所要求的。尤其是在當今這個“信息爆炸”、新知識以幾何級增長的時代,快速閱讀技能的重要性愈加突出。這樣,快速閱讀技能的培養也就必然成為大學英語教學的要務。而大學英語教學中要致力於快速閱讀教學,就需要有適當的教材作支撐,適用的教材是保證教學活動順利開展的必要條件。《大學體驗英語快速閱讀教程》的編寫正是為了滿足目前國內大學英語教學的這一實際需要。
本教程的編寫以《大學英語課程教學要求(試行)》為依據。
本教程共四冊,每冊含l8個單元,可供大學英語教學l~4學期使用(按每學期l8周,每周一個單元計)。各冊中每單元分Text A和Text B(一篇用於課堂,另一篇供課後練習)。每冊配有“Introduction to Important ReadingStrategies and Skills”。本教程的編寫採取“主題與技能”相結合的模式,即單元設定圍繞內容主題,練習設計針對閱讀技能與文章內容。第一、二冊練習包括多項選擇與正誤判斷兩種題型,第三、四冊練習包括多項選擇與簡短問答兩種題型。書後附有全書練習的參考答案。
