《大學英語快速閱讀新目標4》主要內容：閱讀是提高外語技能的重要手段，而快速閱讀又是閱讀技能的重要方面，進行科學合理的快速閱讀訓練，有助於幫助學生運用和掌握正確的閱讀方法，養成良好的閱讀習慣，有效培養閱讀能力，從而促進學習者外語綜合技能的迅速提高。實際閱讀都具有明確和特定的目的：對整篇文章主旨內容的把握，對文章觀點的評判，對局部內容的理解，對事實與細節的分辨，對具體信息的捕捉等。
