多瑙河獎是捷克斯洛伐克電視台在政府支持下於1971年創辦，目的在於通過對青少年電視節目的評獎，顯示各國青少年活潑有力的生動形象，同慕尼黑國際青少年電視獎並列並交錯舉行，每兩年一次，大都在9月舉行。地點為布拉迪斯拉發。設以青少年為對象的紀錄片、音樂節目、電視劇(包括卡通片)等3種獎。另外還設有特別獎、評論家獎和布拉迪斯拉發市長獎等。
