內容簡介

本書共分為背景知識：美國的憲法和政體；新聞要素：英美報刊的起源；背景知識：歐巴馬時代的美國反恐戰略；新聞要素：《洛杉磯時報》簡介等。

改革開放以來我國英語教學有了長足的進步，人們對英語學習愈加重視，學習者的英語水平有了很大的提高。進入21世紀後，我們迎來了經濟全球化、科技一體化、文化多樣化的時代。2007年教育部頒發了《大學英語課程教學要求》，把大學階段的英語教學要求分為三個層次，即一般要求、較高要求和更高要求，為新世紀大學英語教學指明了方向。
