《基礎語言教程》是高等學校英語專業綜合英語教材，全書共四冊。本冊為第三冊，供大學二年級上學期使用。選文以政治地理、歷史人物、當代文化、社會生活為主，材料新穎、內容健康、語言地道、啟發性強。
本冊共10個單元，整體結構與一、二冊相同，仍由四大部分組成。課文按主題編排，練習以語言能力（辭彙能力、語法能力）和語言技能（聽說讀寫譯）為主。通過本冊的學習和訓練，力求使學生在知識、技能、文化、情感、策略五個方面獲得進一步提升。
