《國際經貿英漢翻譯》遵循的是“從實踐中來，到實踐中去”，“從翻譯實踐中學習翻譯”的方針。通過“譯例教學法”，編入大量的經濟、外貿、外交方面的實例，作為示範教材。全書共分教材、英漢對照翻譯輔助材料和練習參考答案三大部分。教材部分由15個單元組成，第一單元包括辭彙、課文、注釋、課文參考譯文、教學要點（附有思考題或單句翻譯練習》和段落翻譯練習產個部分。第一單元的課文與段落翻譯練習在文體上基本保持一致。大部分課文和段落翻譯練習實際上源於同一素材，藉以做到“學以致用”。
