北賀蘭山晚二疊世礦化植物及古環境研究

項目簡介

二疊紀末生物集群絕滅事件是顯生宙以來五次生物大絕滅中最大的一次，導致了大規模海洋物種的消失。近年來對於這次大災難的地質事件方面的研究取得了不少突破性進展，但由於缺少大植物化石研究的直接證據，陸地生態系統特別是陸生植物在這次絕滅事件中具體經歷了怎樣的變化，目前所知甚少。晚二疊世植物與動物、植物與真菌相互關係的生態學研究，以及通過礦化植物解剖構造研究古環境指示特徵所做的工作也不多。賀蘭山北段出產大量晚二疊世保存精美的礦化植物化石與富含植物化石的燧石標本，且不少植物化石中還保存了多種不同類型的內食性節肢動物蛀孔、糞便顆粒及內生真菌化石；許多植物化石標本明顯表現出對氣候變化的特殊生理回響構造。這些無疑對深入了解晚二疊世木材的構造分異、演化趨勢，以及開展植物群落的古生態學與古環境研究提供了珍貴材料，為認識晚二疊世絕滅事件過程中陸地生態系統及陸生植物生理回響特徵提供重要線索。
