《加速英語口語(第2冊)》改變目前很多英語口語教材辭彙量小、內容空洞的缺點,將豐富的辭彙、實用的語法句子結構融合在真實生動的對話場景中,輔以對話和討論等多種練習方式,使學生學習口語對話的同時,有效地掌握更多實用辭彙和語法結構,並快速提高英語寫作水平。
在每個單元後面的Beware — common problems列出了學生常犯的語言錯誤,有利於學生及時糾正;Difference between British English and American English又把每單元涉及到的英美英語差別列出,方便學生對照。這些也是其他口語教材所不具備的內容。此外,“自我評估”(selfevaluation)部分,能使學生和老師對學習進程有個大致的了解,並有利於培養學生的自主學習能力和自我管理自我評估的認知能力。每個單元後面還介紹了與課文相關的中西方文化差異方面的知識,以提高學生的文化適應能力。
