《加速英語口語(第2冊)》內容簡介：提高英語實際套用能力，尤其是口語表達能力是當代大學英語教與學的一個重點。學生在英語口語學習中遇到的諸多困難和問題，促成了我們這套《加速英語口語》的誕生。
這套口語教材平衡並揉合了中外師資的優勢，語言真實自然、準確地道，既貼近中國大學生的學習生活實際，又適當反映了西方的校園和社會生活；既生動地呈現了網聊、網上購物等當今社會的熱門話題，又廣泛涉及學生的大學校園生活和未來求職、工作的許多方面，實用性相當強。
《加速英語口語(第2冊)》改變目前很多英語口語教材辭彙量小、內容空洞的缺點，將豐富的辭彙、實用的語法句子結構融合在真實生動的對話場景中，輔以對話和討論等多種練習方式，使學生學習口語對話的同時，有效地掌握更多實用辭彙和語法結構，並快速提高英語寫作水平。
在每個單元後面的Beware — common problems列出了學生常犯的語言錯誤，有利於學生及時糾正；Difference between British English and American English又把每單元涉及到的英美英語差別列出，方便學生對照。這些也是其他口語教材所不具備的內容。此外，“自我評估”(selfevaluation)部分，能使學生和老師對學習進程有個大致的了解，並有利於培養學生的自主學習能力和自我管理自我評估的認知能力。每個單元後面還介紹了與課文相關的中西方文化差異方面的知識，以提高學生的文化適應能力。
本教材分為一、二兩冊，第一冊包括10個單元，第二冊包括12個單元，每個單元有2 — 6個不同的對話場景。本書語言的難度適中，適用對象廣泛：可以作為大學低年級英語專業和高年級非英語專業學生的英語口語教材，不但對通過四、六級考試很有幫助，也對那些有志於出國留學，或是單純提高口語水平的自學者深有裨益。
