劉彤，理學博士，教授（四級），博士生導師。1989年畢業於東北林業大學，獲學士學位。1994年獲東北林業大學生態學碩士學位，2008年獲東北林業大學生態學博士學位。期間於1995年-2000年赴德國弗萊堡大學學習工作。2002年任東北林業大學林學院副教授，2007年至今任林學院教授。
主要從事植物種群生態學及保護生物學方面的教學和科研工作，主持十三五國家重點研發計畫專項子課題1項，國家自然科學基金1項，海外名師項目1項，十一五國家國際科技支撐項目子專題1項，黑龍江省自然科學基金和黑龍江省留學基金各1項。發表學術論文50餘篇，其中SCI論文3篇，參編著作4部。獲黑龍江省高等學校教學成果獎二等獎1項，東北林業大學優秀教學成果獎1項。主講普通生態學、保護生物學、種群生態學等課程。截至目前指導畢業碩士10人。
