Global Spectrum’s parent company, Comcast-Spectacor, is the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm which owns the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association, the Wachovia Center, the Wachovia Spectrum and Comcast SportsNet, the 24-hour regional sports programming TV network.Mich Sauers, Senior Vice President of Business Development for Comcast-Spectacor, (formerly President and CEO of Global Spectrum) works closely with Global Spectrum to develop business opportunities that also involve other companies owned by Comcast-Spectacor that includes:Ovations Food Services, New Era Tickets and Front Row Marketing Services.
Comcast-Spectacor includes Global Spectrum; Ovations Food Services, a food and beverage services company; New Era Tickets , a company offering a new and unique approach to in-house ticketing services; 3601 Creative Group, a full-service in-house advertising agency;Flyers Skate Zone, a series of community skating rinks designed to promote ice skating and ice hockey in the Philadelphia region; and the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League. Comcast-Spectacor, in partnership with Disson Skating, will produce ten (10) nationally televised figure skating spectaculars on NBC.
Global Spectrum provides innovative management, marketing, operations and event booking services for public assembly facilities, including arenas, civic and convention centers, stadiums, ice facilities, equestrian centers and theatres. The most professional and experienced senior management staff in the industry leads Global Spectrum.In addition to providing full scope-of-services for existing facilities that decide to “privatize,” Global Spectrum also provides pre-opening design and construction consulting services for the development phase of facilities under construction.
Current Operations & Organization
Global Spectrum began operations in 1994 as Globe Facility Services, of Tampa, FL. In January 2000, a majority interest in Globe Facility Services was acquired by Comcast-Spectacor under the leadership of former Global Spectrum President and CEO, Mich Sauers, creating one of the leading and best financially resourced private management companies in the industry.
Today, Global Spectrum is the fastest growing venue management firm in the world. Global Spectrum is led by Peter Luukko, Chairman (and President and COO of Global Spectrum’s parent company, Comcast-Spectacor), John Page, Chief Operating Officer and Frank E. Russo, Jr., Senior Vice President of Business Development.
