創作背景
“該是放棄的時候了”這個主題，化成了“Cold As You”，每一次約會的最後，都讓她無比傷感，後來她終於想清楚了，自己從來沒有到過任何跟那個男孩一樣冰冷的地方，在痛楚之中，決定斬斷這份永遠不會有結果的感情。
Taylor說:我和Liz Rose一起創作了這首歌，我覺得這首歌的歌詞是我們寫過的歌詞中最好的之一。這首歌講的是：當你發現有些人根本就不是你之前想的那樣的，而你之前卻一直為那不值得你付出的人尋找藉口。事實上，有些人永遠不會愛你。當我們寫到一半時，我唱起來：“And now that I'm sitting here thinking it through, I've never been anywhere cold as you.”在發行同名專輯之前，Taylor曾在MySpace上發表過的一篇日誌里寫道：然後我唱了一首歌叫 Cold As You。這首歌包含了一些我有生以來寫過的最好的歌詞，我等不及專輯的發售了。這是這首歌的結尾："And now that I'm sitting here thinking it through, I've never been anywhere cold as you"
