秀蘭是一群飛行員的寶貝，她平時輪流跟父親的生前好友路浦和在富人家史麥斯夫婦當傭人的媽媽生活。但不幸的事情突然發生，使秀蘭成了孤兒。路浦自告奮勇要收養秀蘭，但最後他才知道自己不是唯一要收養這個小天使的人。富人家的內德舅舅通過官司希望獲得秀蘭的撫養權，但史麥斯夫婦待秀蘭並不好，處心積慮地想逼走秀蘭。路浦為了湊錢打官司不得已接受了在惡劣天氣飛行送貨的任務。不料，秀蘭聽見了富人家的真實想法決定獨自跑出來並鑽進了路浦的飛機。在惡劣的天氣下，路浦不得已選擇和秀蘭一起跳傘，最終平穩落地落地。最終公堂上有了完美的結局。在這部作品裡，秀蘭·鄧波兒將演唱好船棒棒糖號（The Good Ship Lollipop)
