句子加工是心理語言學研究的熱點之一。當前句子加工領域存在兩大對立的理論：花園路徑模型和基於制約的模型。前者認為句子加工是模組、串列的，最初只有句法信息起作用，幫助人們構建結構上最簡單的分析；後者認為句子加工中各種信息互動作用，所有可能的結構分析同時激活。然而，面對句子加工研究揭示的複雜現象，兩大模型均未能做出合理解釋。本研究指出，句子加工完全可能按互動、串列的方式進行：各種信息互動作用，幫助人們建構一種最合理的分析。鑒於此，本研究提出了互動串列加工模型，並以漢語歧義構式為對象，考察了該模型的可行性。
