A Mouse Trap 一隻鼠夾
一隻老鼠從牆上的縫隙里向屋裡窺視，發現農夫和妻子正在打開一個包裹。包里是什麼好吃的呢？老鼠很好奇。結果他驚恐地發現裡面竟是個鼠夾！
他趕忙溜了出來，來到院子裡宣布這個可怕的訊息。“屋裡有隻鼠夾！屋裡有隻鼠夾！”母雞聽到後略咯大笑，她一邊用爪子撓著地面，一邊高昂著頭說道：“老鼠先生，我可以告訴你，它對你來說是個性命攸關的問題，但是對於我又有什麼關係呢？我可不會被它影響的。”老鼠轉向豬說：“屋裡有個鼠夾廣‘對此我深表遺憾，老鼠先生，”豬同情地說，“但是除了祈禱我也沒有其他的辦法，希望我的祈禱能保佑你。”老鼠又向奶牛訴說了這個訊息。奶牛回答道：“什麼？一個鼠夾！
老鼠先生，難道對我是什麼致命的威脅嗎？哈哈。”老鼠只好垂頭喪氣地回到屋裡，沮喪地獨自面對這個可怕的東西一一鼠夾。
就在那天晚上，屋裡傳來了響聲，聽起來像是鼠夾捕獲了獵物。農夫的妻子；中到那裡去看什麼被逮住了。黑暗中，她沒看清夾子夾住了一條毒蛇的尾巴。這時，毒蛇狠狠地咬了她一口。農夫趕忙把妻子送到醫院，回來後她就一直高燒不退。聽說新鮮的雞湯能治病，於是農夫拿著斧子來到院子裡殺了母雞。但是妻子的病情仍未見好轉，周圍的鄰居和朋友們都來看望她。為了招待他們，農夫又殺了豬。後來，妻子的病不治而亡。許多人來參加她的葬禮，農夫只好又讓人宰了扔牛來招待他們。
