在林肯公園的官方網站上，樂隊發表了一份聲明，該聲明中寫道：“《Iridescent》這首歌曲在我們的現場表演中是觀眾最喜歡的歌曲之一，所以我們很高興導演Michael Bay能夠使用我們的這首歌曲。”
《Iridescent》收錄在林肯公園《A Thousand Suns》專輯中。在前兩集的變形金剛系列電影中，分別使用了林肯公園的《What I've Done》和《New Divide》作為主題曲。麥可.貝在接受採訪時說：“上兩集的變形金剛電影當中所使用的都是林肯公園樂隊的暢銷單曲，《Iridescent》也會獲得同樣的成功。”
《a thousand suns》《彩虹光芒》是收錄在林肯公園2010年專輯《烈日千陽》（A thousand Suns）中的一首歌曲，旋律舒緩，歌詞簡練，悲傷之中透露著希望，整體給人一種比較憂傷的文藝范的感覺，在林肯公園的歌曲中，算是非常抒情的一首。在為《變3》重新編曲的混音版本中，雖然著重加強了節奏，但與此前氣勢磅礴、金屬感極強的《What I' ve done》與《New Divide》相比，《彩虹光芒：混音版》還是顯得比較抒情，給人一種完全不一樣的感覺，不知道這是不是意味著《變3》會在整體風格與情緒基調上，相較前兩部有不小的變化。
