樂隊歷史

YH來自美國加州，由Sam和Simon兩人組建的樂隊Iglu and Hartly發展而來，樂隊名則取自美國普利茲獎獲得者，作家Herman Wouk的同名小說。Sam和Simon在自己的Iglu and Hartly樂隊時雖然有過2年的巡演，但他們的理念是在沒有商業壓力的情況下創作音樂，可惜樂隊的發展情況並不樂觀，後來隨著二人的朋友Tasso和Simon的妹妹Alice的加入，他們萌生了新的音樂想法，並說服了自己的朋友Nick加入這個團體，改名為Youngblood Hawke。
2011年5月YH曾獨立發行過他們的首張同名EP，可以說那張EP的質量相當可觀，或者說已經可以超越許多獨立大牌，僅Rootless一首便獲得了大大小小數多音樂雜誌、媒體、部落格和網站的好評，比如Purevolume，可惜那張EP未能上架iTunes，只是在樂隊的Bandcamp出售，EP中出彩的曲目還有Danaboy、Forever、In Our Blood和Come Looking。

2012年初左右，YH在Facebook宣布他們被Universal簽下，並表示很快會發行新的EP。前不久他們率先放出了首單We Come Running，不出意料，這單不負期望，在children’s choirs,bells和gang choruses的烘托下，加之主唱獨特的聲線，We Come Running著實成為一首異常catchy的單曲，也讓它成為本周iTunes的Single of the Week！剛上架的EP同樣是同名EP，而之前的那張同名EP已經被他們從Bandcamp下架，想必是為了配合Universal。EP中還收錄了上一張同名EP的兩首曲目Rootless和Forever，但編曲上都有改動，更加好聽，另外一首Stars(Hold on)同樣運用了children’s choirs和gang choruses，從這張EP便能看出YH的美好前程。
