茱蒂．梅琳涅克 Judy Melinek
畢業於哈佛大學，並在加州大學洛杉磯分校（UCLA）取得醫學學位，目前是法醫病理學家，也是加州大學舊金山分校（UCSF）醫療中心的臨床醫學副教授，與丈夫提傑．米契爾以及孩子居住在舊金山。
茱蒂的父親是名精神科醫生，她從小便受到啟發，熱中研究人體運作的知識，幻想長大後能與父親一同徜徉在醫學的世界，但父親卻在她十三歲時自殺，茱蒂雖不諒解，卻更加擁抱生命的美好，立志當一名外科醫生，後來則誤打誤撞成為法醫病理學家，在紐約市醫事檢察處進行為期兩年的培訓，那兩年，茱蒂接手了兩百六十二件驗屍；十二年後的現在，她已經處理超過兩千具遺體。她熱愛這份工作、愛科學、愛醫學，也愛工作中與醫學無關的部分──提供家屬諮商、與警探合作、出庭作證，甚至在這些時候更加努力，因為她得替死者發聲。「要能每天面對死亡、親眼看個透徹，最重要的是要對生者有愛。」是茱蒂這些年來擔任法醫的體悟。
