From Publishers Weekly
Douglas Wood goes back to school in What Teachers Can't Do, illus. by Doug Cushman, the follow-up to the popular What Dads Can't Do and What Moms Can't Do. Among the lessons learned: "Teachers can't buy their own apples. And they can't teach their best without flowers on their desk." Ages 3-8.

From Booklist
PreS.-Gr. 2. Wood and Cushman have teamed up in two previous books featuring benign-looking dinosaurs, What Dads Can't Do (2000) and What Moms Can't Do (2001). Teachers are the next natural targets for pity from a child's perspective. As this humorously off-kilter book reminds us, there are many things teachers can't do. They can't be tardy, or bring their own apples to school, or go down the tube slide during recess. They have some puzzling inconsistencies, too; they can spell Mississippi, but they can't spell cat! Cushman's pen, ink, and watercolor cartoons, bright and full of fun, enhance the crazy logic. The dinosaur teachers--a pleasingly plump female who wears dangling earrings and a vest, and a male with a crew cut--strike just the right note of haplessness as they lumber through the school day. Great fun. Connie Fletcher
