美國詩人、繪本作家，屢獲各項大獎。繪本《媽媽告訴我的第一件事》曾獲夏洛特·佐洛托獎、《紐約時報》最佳繪本獎。其他作品有《適應黑暗：26首晚安詩》《寫給湖泊的信》等。斯萬森常在學校和孩子們一起讀詩、寫詩。她撰寫的兒童文學評論文章經常發表在《河岸評論》上，同時，她也是一個編輯。現和家人居住在明尼蘇達州聖保羅市，老橡樹圍繞在她黃色的房子周圍，她喜歡透過老橡樹的枝葉觀賞月光。
【美】貝斯·克羅姆斯（Beth Krommes）
美國插畫家。出生於1956年，從小和父母、四個姐妹在賓夕法尼亞州生活。在雪城大學獲得美術學士學位，在麻省大學阿默斯特校區獲得文學碩士學位（美術教育），並有機會在倫敦中央聖馬丁學院學習一年。曾在公立學校當過美術老師，開過手工藝品店，還在計算機雜誌擔任過美術總監。從1989年開始專職畫畫，專注於繪本的創作。
1982年，克羅姆斯對木版畫產生了興趣，第一部作品便採用了木版畫的繪畫方式。很快，她轉而開始創作刮版畫，因為刮版畫的效果和木版畫很接近，但是創作的速度更快
