Two Cuban-American sisters in their early 70s living in one of the quaint but less affluent neighborhoods of Miami's East Little Havana rent a spare bedroom in their dilapidated mansion to an aristocratic hunk whom they (rightly) suspect is a vampire. The set-up is complicated by the unexpected arrival of their homeless niece: a liberal, "barefooted" nun who supposedly "ran away" from her convent. Enter the villains: a "medieval wizard" a la Cagliostro and his sexy but venomous accomplice. Their destinies are linked and transformed by a magical talisman with the power to break an ancient curse.
