《The Age Of The Understatement》的曲風相當復古，似乎並不是為現在的年輕人準備的。Alex Turner和Miles Kane都沒有將兩人原樂隊的工作放下，因此Last Shadow Puppets更像是兩人的一個玩票性質的組合。在玩膩了現代的東西之後，Alex Turner和Miles Kane藉助於這個“傀儡”之身發揮出了他們此前並沒有展現的才華。《The Age Of The Understatement》是一張屬於70年代的唱片，老式的音色、不同的編曲和大量弦樂效果的運用令這張專輯顯得與現在大多數小年輕做出的專輯與眾不同。這只能說是Alex Turner和Miles Kane才華的體現，因為，並不是每個20齣頭的小年輕都能做出來這樣的音樂。
