該節目於每周二晚錄播，並在周四的晚間登入WWE官網播出。
開播
2009年1月5日，WGN America和World Wrestling Entertainment宣布達成合作協定，WWE Superstars，一個新的節目，將會在WGN America播出。根據新聞顯示，這個節目將會於2009年4月17日開始播出，以下是我們得到的一些信息：這個秀的時間是一個小時，將於每周四播出，播出時間要比Spike TV的TNA Impact早一個小時。每周六中午將會進行重播。你可以期待這個節目會持續一段時間，因為WWE和WGN簽的是兩年的契約。和此前的猜測不一樣，這個節目也將會是摔角比賽，看起來很可能由RAW、SmackDown中那些低級別的，很少有機會登上電視的選手進行比賽.同時，這個節目也將不會是重播過去的比賽。選手將會來自三個品牌，因此和以前的Heat以及Velocity又不太一樣。WGN的母公司The Tribune Co.向WWE購買了這個秀的著作權。 隨著WWE Superstars節目於4月開始播出，很可能為節約成本，隔周進行兩期Smackdown錄製也將結束。
停播風波
WGN電視台上周確認，WWE Superstars節目已經被取消，最後一期節目將在美國時間2010年4月7日播出。而WWE將在今後在WWE官網上和美國本土以外的電視台繼續播出這個節目。
現狀
從2009年發展至今，Superstars節目已經播出了126期節目。從被寄予厚望登上電視台播出到現在只能在官網上錄製播出，可以說Superstars節目遭遇了發展的低谷。但是，WWE正在積極的提升Superstars節目的選手陣容和比賽質量，儘管觀眾人數和受關注度不如RAW和SmackDown，但是Superstars節目仍然有自己的觀眾群，尤其是那些傷愈復出的選手大都選擇Superstars節目作為回歸的第一站，這也增強了這個節目的觀賞性。
