雖然她們的組合名稱Smile DK中含有DK兩個字母（丹麥的簡寫），但Malin,Veronica及前成員Nina都不是丹麥人，她們全都來自瑞典。她們的專輯在丹麥發行，所以加上了.DK的後輟。
smile.dk在2008年復出演出
Veronica和Nina最初組建了名為Smile的樂隊並且在1998年發行了她們的第一張專輯《Smile》。《Smile》受到了廣泛的關注，特別是在日本。專輯中的一些歌曲被EMI收錄，其中的Butterfly最終經Konami授權成為第一代跳舞機舞曲。從那以後，Butterfly成為跳舞機歷史上最受歡迎的歌曲。
在第一張專輯之後，Nina離開了Smile開始單飛，Malin取代了Nina加入到Smile。樂隊名稱也從Smile變成了Smile DK.
她們第二張專輯中的"Kissy Kissy"也成為跳舞機遊戲EZ2Dancer中的經典。
2008年組合成員Malin離隊，新組合成員Hanna加入，SMILE DK現成員為Hanna和Veronica。在2008年在美國加州首次與新隊員登台演出。
2013年Hanna離隊，再次有新成員Cecilia加入.
