Vivacious Roxie Joynes was one of many sparkling personalities in show business in the 1940's. One of her greatest achievements was appearing in the soundies in the 1940's, these were known as the first music videos, which featured top singers, bands, dancing girls, and beauties. The soundies with an African American cast were the highlight of the soundies, showcasing the culture, dance, and music of black entertainment of the time. Roxie was one of the women who contributed her beauty and charm to soundies and Roxie's good looks, sex appeal, and pizzazz stole many scenes and through these films, her presence will live on forever.
