Fifteen-year-old Jess's grandfather has just had a major heart attack, but he insists he finish his painting, River Boy. At first, Jess cannot understand why this painting is so important to her grandfather, especially since there doesn't seem to be any boy in it at all. 作者簡介
蒂姆·鮑勒（Tim Bowler），1953年出生於英格蘭東南沿海的一個小鎮。在家鄉的一所語言學校畢業後，他進入了諾威治大學學習。鮑勒從事過林業、教育、翻譯等工作，但最終成為一名自由作家和譯者。 鮑勒五歲時便開始寫作，小時候主要寫一些短篇故事，學生時代主要寫詩歌。他在二十五歲時完成了他的第一本小說《侏儒》，《小河男孩》是他創作的第三本小說。
