As one of the top basketball players in the state of New York, Bennett Wilson, is destined to take Mount Vernon High School to the state champion and the Reebok classic for the first time in history. With several of the top colleges in the nation clamoring for his attention, he is guaranteed a basketball scholarship to the school of his choice. With the fame and soon to be fortune awaiting him, it seems as though Bennett Wilson is on top of the world. Or, so we think. Bennett's life is actually plagued with poverty and strife. As the oldest of three children living with their single mother in the tough inner city projects of New York, the thought of choosing the fast life of the streets was never a road he cared to travel. His ticket out of poverty and hopelessness is a coveted basketball to a top tier college program. However, when Bennett learns that his sick mother is three months behind in the rent and that the landlord has served them with an eviction notice, Bennett wonders if he can resist the temptation of fast money on the streets. Will he answer the call he's avoided all his life and what would it cost him if he does?
