MICAH P. HINSON於1981年出生於美國田納西州孟菲斯，作為獨立搖滾藝人(有人也說是鄉村歌手)，他並不為人所知，但是其音樂才華是得到眾多音樂人的肯定，特別是這張專輯，作為第一張專輯發布於2004年，一發布就得到褒獎和肯定。但是其作品並不多，氣候發行了兩張EP。其中一張是《 The Baby and the Satellite》發行於2005年；第二張《 Lights from the Wheelhouse》發行於2006年。其後，於2006年發行了第二張專輯《Micah P. Hinson and the Opera Circuit》，和第三張專輯《Micah P. Hinson and the Red Empire Orchestra 》於2008年7月14日。
第一張專輯有一首歌是我最喜歡的，名叫《don't you forget about me》,這首歌也作為插曲出現在電影《處女地》中，看過此電影的人一定會對詞曲印象深刻。當時我就是為了這首歌找到這張專輯和了解了此作者。
