eminem原名Marshall Mather，出生於美國堪薩城。1999年開始進入美國流行歌曲排行榜。Mathers童年時代隨母親在美國乎戀戰各州流浪，12歲定居在底特律。高中時便開始表演說唱，後兆巴夜抹來他退學加入了幾個非正式組織乘探墓如Basement Productions和New Jacks，後來又加入了Soul ntent二人演唱組。新命名的Eminem在1997年通過獨立唱片公司FBT推出了第一張專輯估料頸《Infinite》。然而這張唱片的銷量很差，遠比不上當時的主要說唱歌手如Nas和AZ。《Sourse》雜誌的“Unsigned Hype”奔譽欠地欄目對他的特寫增厚捉兆強了他爭取成功的決心，後來他贏得了《Wake Up Show》的“年度最佳自由風格表演者”獎，並在洛杉磯的說唱表演奧林匹克競賽中獲得亞軍，給了他原來的批評者們一記寒臭有力的報復。此後，專集銷量一帆風順，在2004年發布的精選集。
