Jo De La Rosa來自美國北卡羅萊納州的奧蘭治縣，於2008年下半年正式出道，並在8月19日發行了首張專輯《unscripted》. 專輯《Unscripted》中的首支單曲“You can’t control me”是Jo在Bravo電視台的新劇“Date My Ex.”的主題歌，由immergent唱片公司發行。
