1978年6月19日，格倫尼斯出生於荷蘭首都阿姆斯特丹。1994年，16歲的格倫尼斯參加選秀節目《Soundmixshow》，並通過翻唱惠特妮·休斯頓的《One Moment in Time》取得了優異的成績。

2005年，代表荷蘭參加歐洲電視網歌唱大賽，但未能進入決賽。同年，發行個人首張錄音室專輯《My Impossible Dream》。
