“The jackson”是由“the jackson 5”(傑克遜五兄弟樂隊)演變來的。

“傑克遜五兄弟樂隊”在脫離摩城（Motown），來到史詩（Epic）後，變換了一個名字。

組合由五兄弟組成：Jackie(1951年5月4日出生)，Tito(1953年10月15日出生)，Jermaine(1954年12月11日出生)，Marlon(1957年3月12日出生)和Michael Jackson(1958年8月29日)出生。 他們在印地安娜州的加里市長大，最早是由其父Joe Jackson於1966年組織的演唱組。基本上他們都是圍繞著Michael的主唱進行表演，雖然他年紀最小，但是顯而易見他最富天才。 這個組合引起了Motown的注意並於1969年簽約。他們最早的四首歌曲是“I Want You Back”,“ABC”,“The Love You Save”和“I'll Be There”，全部進入過1970年榜首位置。 1971年的“Mama's Pearl”和“Never Can Say Goodbye”幾乎一樣成功。 1972年，Motown將Michael Jackson和Jermaine Jackson放了單飛，以後的日子裡組合的影響逐漸開始變小，儘管1974年他們重拳出擊了《Dance Machine》。1975年，Jackie,Tito,Marlon和Michael與Epic唱片公司簽約，加上兄弟Randy(1961年10月29日出生)，組成了“the Jacksons”(the Jackson 5的名字屬於Motown)。（Jermain一直呆在Motown,直到1984年重新加入這個組合）。樂隊成員Michael Jackson（麥可·傑克遜）後來成為家喻戶曉的流行之王（king of pop）。
