de Thame was originally trained as a ballet dancer with the Royal Ballet, and Rachel enjoyed a successful modeling career before turning to gardening. She enrolled in the highly respected two-year course by the English Gardening School at the Chelsea Physic Garden in London.
McCann is a practical gardener and a television and radio presenter.
