Funeral for a friend是一個後硬核樂隊來自於威爾斯。他們作為一個所謂的六重奏樂隊january thirst成立於2001年.但沒有持續很久，並且於2002年由最初的六人團隊發行了他們的首張EP:BETWEEEN ORDER AND MODEL。在一起僅僅幾個月後，樂隊重組，並隨後簽約了華納唱片公司，發行了他們的第二張EP.Four Ways To Scream Your Name。

樂隊的首張專輯 Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation在2003年的10月發行。其中單曲包括JUNEAU 和ESCAPE ARTISTS NEVER DIE等等。
在美國，發行的EP名為：4 WAYS TO SCREAM YOUR NAME，裡面包含了三首來自4 WAYS TO SREAM YOUR NAME，三首來自BETWEEEN ORDER AND MODEL，還有幾首未發行的單曲。不久後樂隊舉行了首演。
第二張專輯HOURS在2005年發行。Streetcar, Monsters, History 和 Roses for the Dead則作為單曲發行。
在2007年5月7日樂隊首次以Funeral For A Friend發行了第一支單曲：INTRO OBLIVION,而專輯TALES DON'T TELL THEMSELVES在14日發行。他們的EP和這張專輯在歌迷中引起巨大的反響特別是對於那首：CASUALLY DRESSED AND DEEP IN CONVERSATION,由於他們的嗓音發生了很大的改變，他們早期的後硬核搖滾變得更加主流。樂隊近期在英國巡演，並且聲稱下張單曲：WALK AWAY將會成為新專輯的第九首歌。
