早年經歷

Dennis Rowland是出生且成長於密西根州底特律的爵士樂歌手。成長於爵士樂愛好者的家庭中，Rowland在很小的時候就對爵士樂特別感興趣。在5、6歲的時候Rowland聽Count Basie Orchestra樂隊主唱Joe Williams的音樂，深深的吸引著他。Rowland的聲音濃郁而深邃，在20世紀70年代早期，Rowland在底特律當地的爵士樂表演隊工作。1977年，Rowland受僱於Count Basie，擔任他巡迴演出中的歌手，擔任從事這樣的工作很多年的偶像Joe Williams、Jimmy Rushing一樣的角色。對於Rowland來說，這是夢想的實現，在之後的七年時光中能夠與Basie一起巡迴演出。在Basie的時期，Rowland有幸與Sarah Vaughan、Ella Fitzgerald、Tony Bennett同台演出。Rowland出演了Robert Sucato導演執導的電影《Real Gone Cat》，飾演Jimmy Baker。他居住在亞利桑那州鳳凰城，並在這裡從事表演。
2012年12月19日，Dennis Rowland因患重症中風病在菲尼克斯的巴羅神經學研究所入院治療。
