《法律英語高級教程》是為法學各專業學生及英語專業學生在學習完《大學英語》或《基礎英語》後進一步學習法律英語知識而編寫的，旨在通過這套教材的實踐，幫助學生掌握法律英語的基礎辭彙及基本法律常識，了解國外法律制度及法學研究的最新動向並通過教學實踐獲得運用法律英語的基本技能，熟練閱讀理解國外法學文獻，掌握基礎的法律方面的英漢互譯。

本書共有15個單元。每單元分為主課文(Text)、練習(Exercise)、輔課文(ExtendedReading)、思考練習(Thinking in Depth)及相關資料(Suggested Reading Materials)。每單元的教學需6學時，全冊書約需60學時。

主課文（Text）作為精度文章講解，課文後設計有生詞、音標、單詞釋義、課文注釋，供教師和學生開展課堂教學。
練習（Exercise）包括閱讀理解、判斷、術語解釋、完形填空和英譯漢，旨在幫助學習者更好地掌握每單元的核心知識點以及為教師提供一個課堂練習和課後作業的素材。輔課文（Extended Reading）是與每單元的論題相配套的輔助閱讀材料，在學習完主課文之後可用作進一步掌握相關知識的閱讀材料。
思考練習（Thinking in Depth）是在學習每單元的主課文(有時包括輔課文)之後，結合
該單元所討論的論題，所提出的一系列思考題。一方面旨在幫助學習者回顧該單元的重點信息；
另一方面則以提問的方式促使學習者對相關論題形成自己的認識和觀點。
