2013年,採用單細胞RNA測序技術揭示了人類和小鼠早期胚胎的遺傳程式,研究成果發表在《Nature》雜誌上,該研究利用單細胞表達譜研究的RNA-seq技術,突破了起始樣本量少的瓶頸,對人胚胎早期發育各階段全基因組RNA轉錄譜的系統分析,發現在胚胎髮育早期各階段中存在著父親或母親來源的單等位基因表達差異。同時運用加權基因共表達網路分析(WGCNA)顯示胚胎早期發育各階段中的細胞周期、基因調控、蛋白質翻譯以及代謝通路的轉錄變化是以分步進行的方式按順序發生,並明確了該機制在物種間保守存在,僅在發育特異性和時序上有所差異,證明了哺乳動物早期胚胎髮育進化上的共性。此外,該研究還發現了驅動胚胎早期發育各階段的關鍵候選基因。該項研究成果將在幹細胞的純化、分類及臨床治療領域產生深遠的影響,也將為改善人類輔助生殖技術和提高人口出生質量提供幫助。五年內發表論文20餘篇,作為課題負責人獲得國家自然科學基金資助兩項,多次作為科研骨幹參與國家基金委、科技部973、863、國際合作等科研項目,上海市“曙光計畫”項目資助。
