本書的整體框架設計共分為五個章節，主要內容如下：
第一章“引言”。介紹本書的選題理據、考察範圍、研究目的、分析方法、語料收集和結構布局。
第二章“英語現在完成進行體的國內外研究述評”。
第三章“理論框架”。針對以往研究之不足，在認知語法和構式語法理論框架中基於“構式壓制、辭彙壓制、多重傳承”構建MCI+模式，並依其為理論框架分析英語現在完成進行體。
第四章“語料分析與討論”。在描寫語料的基礎上，運用MCI+模式依據王寅教授(2008)提出的構式程式分析法，系統分析英語完成進行體構式的句法、語義、語用特徵，並佐以相關數據做詳細說明。
第五章“結語”。總結全文，歸納本書的創新和主要發現，並為以後的研究提出點滴建議。

作者簡介
馬應聰，女，博士，碩士生導師，全國體認語言學會理事、中西語言哲學研究會會員、中國認知語言學研究會會員。現任河南大學外語學院副教授。主要研究方向：認知語言學、語義學、英漢對比。近年來出版專著1部，發表學術論文20餘篇，主持完成各級各類項目4項，參與3項國家社科基金項目研究，專著《英語非人稱構式的認知研究》曾獲河南省教育科學研究優秀成果一等獎。
