謝立信，男，1942年12月12日出生，山東萊州人。中國工程院院士、教授、研究員、博士生導師、中國共產黨黨員。1965年畢業於山東醫學院醫療系，同年到濰坊醫學院眼科任教。是該院眼科的創始者，歷任助教、講師、副教授和教授。1987—1988年赴美國路易斯安那州立大學眼科中心從事角膜病博士後研究。1990年在青島創建山東省眼科研究所，2001年當選中國工程院院士。現任山東省醫學科學院名譽院長、山東省眼科研究所所長、青島大學眼科學院院長。兼任《中華眼科雜誌》副總編輯、中華醫學會眼科學分會角膜病學組組長。是美國眼科學會國際會員、國際眼表疾病學會理事、亞太地區角膜病及屈光手術學會理事、國際淚膜與眼表學會學術委員會委員。謝立信教授主要從事眼科角膜病、白內障的套用基礎研究和臨床診治，特別在角膜內皮細胞、感染性角膜病和眼內植入緩釋藥物等方面作出了卓有成效的開拓性工作。為首獲國家和省級科技進步獎15項和國家發明專利4項。出版國內首部《角膜移植學》專著和主編國內首部《人工晶體植入學》。主編、主譯書籍9部，參編16部。在國內外眼科雜誌發表學術論文340篇，其中以第一或通訊作者在《中華眼科雜誌》發表論文111篇，居國內之首，被SCI收錄國外發表論文35篇。完成角膜移植手術和白內障手術各萬餘例。先後承擔國家“863”、“973”子課題和國家自然科學基金重點項目等省部級以上科研項目共30項。現為北京大學、浙江大學、武漢大學和青島大學博士生導師，培養的研究生、進修醫師遍布全國各地，為我國眼科學教育事業做出了重要貢獻。由於謝立信教授為我國眼科事業所做出的突出貢獻，他先後被授予全國“五·一”勞動獎章、全國勞動模範、衛生部優秀留學回國人員。是第八、九屆全國人大代表，中國共產黨十六大代表。並於1998年獲中華眼科學會獎，1999年獲美國路易斯安那州立大學眼科中心國際傑出成就獎，2004年獲中美眼科學會“金鑰匙獎”，2005年獲青島市科學技術功勳獎，2006年獲得中華眼科傑出成就獎。
