國務院學位委員會第六屆學科評議組成員，國務院學位委員會第一屆全國林業專業學位研究生教育指導委員會委員，國家百千萬人才工程一、二層次人選，中國林學會第六屆森林生態分會副主任委員，中國林學會第一屆森林公園分會副理事長，中國學位與研究生教育學會第四屆農林學科工作委員會副主任委員，中國學位與研究生教育學會農林學科工作委員會第一屆學術諮詢委員會委員，第五屆黑龍江省生態學會副理事長，第九、十屆黑龍江省氣象學會副理事長，黑龍江省優秀中青年專家，第十、十一、十二屆黑龍江省政協委員，享受國務院政府特殊津貼。研究領域生態學、林學，主要研究方向林火生態與管理。1979-1986：東北林業大學林業專業本科、碩士；1992-1994：東北林業大學生態學在職博士。1986-現在一直在東北林業大學工作。期間（1993-1994）到德國弗萊堡大學學習。主持國家和省部級項目20餘項，發表論文200餘篇，其中SCI論文12篇，出版專著10餘部，獲國家教材二等獎、林業部教材一等獎。主講林火管理、林火生態等專業課程。指導出站博士後11人，畢業博士33人，碩士47人。
