劇情簡介
影片改編自18世紀歌德的一首德語詩歌，利用一個詼諧的寓言性質的故事貫穿整部影片。
聖誕老人不想退休，但是規則神聖不可侵犯：他必須選出一名可以代替他的學徒。萬里挑一被幸運愚棄剃邀選中的孩子，應該叫做習挨遷尼古拉，而且要是孤盛朽兒，有一顆純潔的心。在地球的另一端，一個小男孩完全符合這些條件，但是幾連蘭他對自己缺乏信心疊章拔，還有他的頭暈都讓他失去優勢。聖誕老人會答應讓位，幫助學墓尋艱徒接替自殃櫻估符己嗎？
