世界經濟是國內高校經濟類學科的一門重要課程，相關教材從體系來看可分為兩類：一是以國外的國際經濟學為主要內容，包括國際貿易和國際金融兩個部分；二是考慮到國內學科分類的特徵，即國際貿易和國際金融被劃歸兩個不同專業，相應地，教材也與國際經濟學的內容有所區別，形成獨立的體系和特色。本書屬於第二大類。作者抓住經濟全球化這一主線，使用經濟學基本理論中的分析工具，從全球、區域、國家和企業幾個不同的角度考察世界經濟發展和變化的規律。
為了適應培養國際化複合型人才的需要，本教材有中英文兩個版本，適合經濟類專業本科生和研究生學習使用。

作者簡介
白遠，北京第二外國語學院教授，北京市教學名師，曾任北京第二外國語學院國際經濟與貿易學院副院長、北京工商大學嘉華學院副院長。為美國西北大學、美國北佛羅里達大學以及科索沃大學客座教授；現任中國國際經濟合作學會常務理事暨學術委員會委員，中國管理現代化研究會國際商務談判專業委員會副主任。曾任世界銀行供水項目國家項目辦特聘專家。
主要研究領域是中國企業對外直接投資和文化創意產業與產品貿易。出版專著與研究報告11部，在《財貿經濟》、《世界經濟》、《國際貿易問題》、《國際經濟合作》、《國際貿易》、《國際商務》、Economics World（美國）、Transnational Corporation Review（加拿大）等核心期刊和國外期刊上發表論文50餘篇，出版國家“十一五”、“十二五”規劃教材和北京市精品教材等13部。
