本項目圍繞著微生物生物地理學這一學術研究新熱點，以生孢嗜鹽放線菌為研究對象，以多基因位點系統發育分析和擴增片段長度多態性（AFLP）分析為主要研究手段，開展具有探索性的研究。試圖通過選擇性分離培養的手段，來了解擬諾卡氏菌（Nocardiopsis）、鏈單孢菌(Streptomonospora)和多孢放線菌(Actinopolyspora)在我國各主要鹽環境中的分布；通過從基因組上獲得更多的信息，擴增並獲得足夠的看家基因序列，進行分子進化模型檢驗和系統演化分析，以解釋這種分布格局。嗜鹽放線菌生物地理學的研究將為特殊環境下放線菌資源的開發提供理論指導，也將為理解高鹽環境中放線菌的群落組成和演化歷史提供寶貴的實驗資料。
